But road games present challenges, especially road conference games. Toledo — three-touchdown favorite or not — understands the landmines that await at Ball State. The Rockets are not immune to losing games as an overwhelming favorite.
What’s been different this season, however, is that whenever difference-making plays have been required, more often than not Toledo has made them. There will come a moment on Saturday when UT needs a first down or a stop on defense. Perhaps the play won’t decide the game, but Toledo will probably be successful, which should give it a higher likelihood of winning.
